  • Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board(GS&HSEB)was first established/constituted in 1972 under the act of Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972.

  • Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is having SSC wings in Vadodara.

  • Gujarat Education Board regulates its work from Gandhinagar.

  • Chairman of GSHSEB is main officer who authorize work and related regulations.



  • Functions of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board(GSHSEB):



  • Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board prepares of syllabus for Secondary School level and Higher Secondary School Level.

  • Gujarat Education Board Recommends textbooks for particular subjects of SSC and HSC level.

  • Gujarat Education Board Gives approval of new schools, maintenance and inspection of existing schools.

  • Board Prescribes school timings, vacation, promotions to teachers.

  • Board conducts SSC (Standard 10) and HSC (Standard 12) examination every year in March as well as in October for repeaters.

  • SSC and HSC exams (March 2012):



    Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board(GSHSEBB) conducts HSC and SSC exam every March in first or second week. This year 2012, exam is one week earlier compared to schedule of HSC and SSC exam of previous year i.e. 2011

  • Timetable of SSC and HSC examination

  • Exam tips for SSC and HSC exams-March 2012.

  • In this year about 9 lacks students will appear in SSC exams and about 3 lacks students will appear in HSC March 2012.

  • The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET)is going to be conducted in April 5, 2012 for HSC Science stream. GUJCET marks will then be added to theory marks obtained in HSC to prepare merit for advance university admissions.

  • This year enough time(few days) is given before each paper so, that students get enough time for effective preparation without any burden or stress.

  • This year SSC exam will consists of 50 % objective type question or Multiple choice questions and will be checked by Optical Mark Reader(OMR).

    I think i am going to fail in maths 12th science gseb hsc paper so i wold like to know that as i am going to pass in physics and chemistry with at least 60 marks will they pass me in maths too by gracing marks?

    i have passed 11th science exam .Now i want to change my stream from science to arts. can i do this?

    No. You cannot do it. If you want to change your stream,you need to start from 11th arts. Not 11th in science and 12th in Arts. You better ask principal or teacher of your school. They will guide you better than me in this matter.
