    This resource will explain the details of Tarnetar mela which is celebrated in saurastra in Gujarat every year in the month of September.


    The mela named "Tarnetar Mela" is celebrated in Gujarat in Saurastra at Trineteshwar temple.It is held in the memory of wedding celebration of Arjuna and Draupadi.the celebration of this mela is last for 3 days and celebrated annually in Tarnetar in Saurashtra, Gujarat.

    The fair coincides with the festival at the Trineteshwar temple of lord Shiva, celebrate the wedding of Arjuna-(one of the Pandav out of five brothers) and Draupadi-(The daughter of King Drupad).It was believed that the marriage of Arjuna with Draupadi was took place after the Matsyawedh,which was held for Swayamwar(marriage) of princess draupadi in which one archer has to hit in the eye of moving fish made up of gold and located at the upper wall of the place. and the archer has to hit by seeing in the water placed at the bottom staying on the Balance in the condition that his both legs should be in separate lid of the balance.
    The fair is look like a marriage market in which Bharvads & Rabari people come to find sutable brides for marriage.Lively folk songs and dance and Garbas are held and hundreds of womens are take part in the dances and Garbas.

    How to reach there


    Railway: 75 kilometers far from Rajkot railway station.
    It gets more traffic from the Ahmadabad and Rajkot people.
    By Road : nearby road is Surendranagar and it is well associated with the road in surendranagar and Ahmadabad.S.T.Bus transportation is available for going to Tarnetar from Surendranagar.
