The place of salt satyagrah in Gujarat - Dandi

It is located on the cost of Arabian sea near Navsari almost 48 Km from Surat. It shot into worldwide prominence in 1930 when Mahatma Gandhi selected it to be the place for the Salt Satyagraha. He marched from Ahmedabad to Dandi with some of his followers to protest against the imposition of a tax on salt.
